As you must surely know, my name is Ruth Stafford Peale, and I just recently celebrated my 101st birthday. I can recall as though it were yesterday when my 100th birthday was celebrated. I told friends for years that when I reached the age of 100, we would have a big party and did we ever. The event was held at the Marriott at Times Square with hundreds of friends who traveled to New York to be with me. The event was just wonderful.

The honors I have received would compose a book such as Lifetime of Positive Thinking. However, with Jo Kadlececk’s help I wrote the story I want to tell you. It is about not quitting when you may only be three feet from your pot of gold.
